Science-based targets (SBTs) are greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reduction goals set by businesses and industries. They ensure that the reduction targets are sufficient to limit global temperature rise to below 1.5 degrees Celsius compared to preindustrial levels. The Science Based Target Initiative (SBTi), a collaboration between the esteemed Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), United Nations Global Compact (UNGC), We Mean Business Coalition (WMBC), the World Resources Institute (WRI), and the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), has established a clear methodology for determining targets based on various methods.
