We are pleased to announce that Jim Sargiovanni has been selected as a new Practice Area Lead for Compliance Services.  This position focuses on managing the day to day operations and expanding the Environmental Inspection program.

Jim has been with EnviroScience for over 7 years and exemplifies the EnviroScience core values of respect, client advocacy, quality work, accountability, teamwork, and safety.  Former Lead Andrew Farber, who took another position outside the company, has relied on Jim over the years, and Jim has been a big part of the success our Environmental Inspection program has experienced due to his strong technical skills, leadership, and commitment to teamwork.  We have no doubt that he will excel at his new position, and we look forward to the future success of the Environmental Inspection program under Jim’s leadership.

Over his time at EnviroScience, Jim has been a Project Manager within the Environmental Inspection program where his responsibilities consist of managing projects and professionals for environmental inspections following Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP)  guidelines and proper management of stormwater during construction.  Jim is also responsible for reviewing and sending weekly progress and environmental compliance reports to director-level employees and governmental agency personnel.  He is a Certified Erosion, Sediment, and Storm Water Inspector (CESSWI) and holds an Inspection and Maintenance Certification for Storm Water Control Measures in Ohio.  Jim has performed water quality sampling for monitoring water discharge events during construction while also sampling for waste characterization for project-related debris.  Best Management Practices for land conservation are used daily during environmental inspections for the SWPPP inspections.  His previous job experience included working with The Nature Conservancy to control and GPS invasive plants.  He has extensive experience with multiple methods of invasive control and has expertise in identifying Ohio’s local flora in forest, floodplain, and wetland ecosystems.  Jim is proficient in the use of submeter GPS units to precisely locate project sites, limits, and the streams and wetlands to be protected.
