A valued wetland biologist at EnviroScience since January 2023, Mike Naymik currently serves as Transportation Project Manager at EnviroScience. Mike specializes in National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) documentation, the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) environmental and project development process management, wetland delineation, and soil management planning. His favorite aspect of working at EnviroScience is working with a diverse group of scientists to solve complex environmental challenges.
Mike earned a Bachelor of Science in Geology from The University of Akron and a Graduate Certificate in Wetland and Water Resource Management from The University of Florida. His education focused on environmental policy, environmental pedology, and wetland biogeochemistry, providing a solid footing for his position at EnviroScience.
With a strong focus on NEPA documentation, wetland delineation, and soil evaluation, Mike has been working in the environmental industry since 2016. Before joining the EnviroScience family, Mike began his career in the natural resources field, serving as a Registered Environmental Health Specialist at Summit County Public Health. He has worked in the environmental consulting industry, managing various types of projects and performing field surveys since 2020. He excels in communicating environmental challenges to clients and finding solutions to problems by understanding each client’s unique project details and goals. These experiences made him a perfect candidate for natural resources work at EnviroScience.
Mike has performed numerous wetland delineations and habitat assessments for transportation projects while managing the NEPA process for his clients and acquiring nationwide and individual permits for stream and wetland impacts.
Mike served as the soil science technical lead for soil management plans at EnviroScience. This includes creating and implementing a research project to evaluate soil health and improve revegetation success in problematic ecosystems. Additionally, Mike served as soil science technical support on a project to develop a new soil management protocol to improve revegetation for transportation projects.
Mike holds a life-long passion for traveling. When he is not exploring new parks, cities, or countries, Mike enjoys golfing, fishing, and hiking with his wife and dog.
