Dan Schweitzer, a professional geologist registered in the State of Pennsylvania, joined EnviroScience in April 2023. Dan brings over 20 years of combined experience in consulting and academia to his role as Environmental Compliance Operations Manager.
Dan’s expertise lies in environmental site investigation and characterization, encompassing comprehensive drilling, logging, and sampling of soil, groundwater, air, and sediment. With a hands-on approach to his project work, he is well-versed in operating hollow stem augers, vibracore sediment samplers, and direct push machinery. He has experience conducting investigations and remedial projects associated with soil, groundwater, and air contamination caused by persistent, mobile, and soluble chemicals like CVOCs and PFAs.
In addition to his technical expertise, Dan is a certified OSHA HAZWOPER Trainer, reflecting his commitment to safety and preparedness in hazardous environments. His dedication to continuous improvement led him to develop critical training programs tailored to meet the ever-evolving regulatory requirements of local industries, with a focus on environmental site investigations, mandatory pipeline operator qualification, and commercial driver training.
Dan’s passion for environmental advocacy is evident through his role as the Chairperson of the City of Kent Environmental Sustainability Commission from 2010 to 2013. During his tenure, he utilized his proficiency in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to assess the potential impact of unconventional drilling operations within Kent’s city limits.
Outside of his professional pursuits, Dan indulges in various hobbies. He can often be found designing and building tube guitar amps, pursuing his love for fishing, or observing the fascinating world of insects as they take advantage of his native pollinator garden plants.
