EnviroScience is excited to announce the official opening of our new regional office in Morgantown, West Virginia. Located at 129 Greenbag Road across from Giant Eagle, the office currently has four full-time staff and additional seasonal staff, with plenty of room for future growth. Meet Our West Virginia Office Staff
Brian Carlson, M.S., Senior Scientist / Aquatic Biologist

Brian Carlson came to West Virginia via the AmeriCorps VISTA program and completed graduate fisheries studies at West Virginia University before entering private consulting seven years ago. Mr. Carlson leads field crews in freshwater mussel, endangered crayfish, fish, and macroinvertebrate community assessments; flow monitoring; water quality analysis; and stream and wetland delineation. He is also a certified rescue diver. He is a Society for Freshwater Scientist genus-level certified taxonomist with experience in the Midwest, Mid-Atlantic, and Appalachian regions. Mr. Carlson has also used his aquatic biology skills to evaluate streams and wetlands for credit, debiting, and mitigation projects, and supports environmental inspections on pipeline and other construction projects.

Sean Kline returns to West Virginia, where he began his environmental consulting career four years ago after graduating from West Virginia University’s Wildlife and Fisheries Program. Mr. Kline specializes in threatened and endangered bats and wetland/stream delineations and permitting, and has been working out of our Stow, Ohio office for the last two years. He has extensive field experience, effectively leading bat mist net surveys, radio telemetry, emergence surveys, and bat habitat assessments with corresponding conservation plans. Mr. Kline is also proficient in wetland and stream delineations, reporting, and permitting along with vegetation management, including invasive species control and supplemental seeding and plantings.

Matthew Gilkay joined EnviroScience and has been active in environmental consulting in West Virginia for a little over a year. Mr. Gilkay is a certified advanced open-water diver and brings experience in fisheries, aquatic vegetation collection and identification, freshwater mussel surveys, and macroinvertebrates to our Morgantown-based team. Originally from Minnesota, the Land of Lakes, Mr. Gilkay is happy to be working and living in the birthplace of rivers.
