Elizabeth Myers

EnviroScience Restoration EIT Elizabeth (Liz) MyersA valued member of the EnviroScience family since September 2023, Elizabeth “Liz” Myers, MS candidate (expected conferral Spring 2024), currently serves as Restoration EIT at EnviroScience. Liz specializes in hydraulic and hydrologic modeling, stormwater permitting, and assisting other team members team in project completion.

Liz earned her Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from Ohio University in Athens, Ohio, with a minor in environmental and plant biology. She is currently completing a Master of Science degree in civil engineering with an environmental focus, also from Ohio University. In her degree, Liz focused on courses in hydrology, water treatment, and restoration ecology, which provided a solid footing for her position at EnviroScience.

Her undergraduate research focused on several projects, including highway noise, stream bank stabilization, and hydrologic modeling, with academic publications in those areas. However, Liz’s main project experience was on a project related to acid mine drainage treatment. The project focused on turning the iron oxide byproduct of acid mine drainage into a paint pigment and selling it to cover the cost of remediating an impacted stream. Liz joined this project in 2018 and remained on it for five years, where she aided in designing a full-scale water treatment plant, built and tested a pilot-scale version of that facility, continually monitored water quality, and wrote a thesis on the chemical composition of the pigment product.

EnviroScience Restoration EIT Elizabeth (Liz) MyersPrior to joining EnviroScience, Liz interned at Stone Environmental Engineering and Science in Columbus, Ohio. As the sole intern for a small firm, she contributed to as many active projects as possible—including tasks such as report and manual writing, Phase 1 investigations, stormwater monitoring, native plant identification and detection, and land surveying. Her internship experience and the extensive research experience in her degree have allowed Liz to be multifaceted and taught her to embrace all opportunities to learn.

Liz enjoys the flexibility and company culture of EnviroScience, where many people share her goals and interests. She has a lifelong passion for the outdoors, spending as much time as possible on hiking trails and kayaks.
