EnviroScience personnel are nationally recognized experts in managing and mitigating large-scale environmental disasters, from released industrial contaminants to non-HAZMAT emergencies. We couple traditional hazardous categorization (HAZCAT) techniques with modern Fourier Transformed Infrared (FTIR) analysis to conduct the Unknowns Analysis. Our Smiths Detection HazmatID FTIR is capable of identifying over 32,000 industrial chemicals. One practical application of FTIR analysis is the identification of chemicals that survive industrial fires or explosions. The modern FTIR analyzer can identify chemicals in only minutes, which in turn allows the rapid identification of numerous chemicals and ultimately expedites site remediation. With these capabilities, EnviroScience’s Emergency Response team can provide rapid response and project oversight to derailments and industrial accidents as well as long-term ecological damage assessments, environmental audits and complete site restoration after an event. See our Emergency Response page for more information about our services.
