At EnviroScience, excellence doesn’t stop in the field. Translating detailed survey data into accurate, well-organized reports is essential for project permitting and regulatory compliance. As freshwater mussel survey season begins, EnviroScience is excited to highlight the expertise of our malacology team’s Marine Senior Project Manager and Technical Writer, Laura Muzal. Laura plays a key role in supporting projects that require biological assessments (BAs), freshwater mussel surveys and regulatory permitting, transforming complex survey findings into documents that meet agency and client requirements.

Experience You Can Rely On

Laura has conducted freshwater mussel surveys, wetland delineations, threatened and endangered species assessments, and macroinvertebrate surveys. Her hands-on knowledge of survey methods and aquatic habitats strengthens her work in the office, where she translates complex field data into accurate, well-organized reports. Laura has extensively coordinated and prepared Section 7 and state endangered species consultation reports (biological assessments, programmatic BAs, conference documents for proposed species, and informal coordination) under the Endangered Species Act, Section 404 permitting documentation under the Clean Water Act, and state-specific regulations giving her a strong understanding of how agencies review and rely on technical documentation. She supports a wide range of clients, including municipalities, transportation agencies, energy companies, and private developers.

Bridging Field Science and Project Permitting

Laura specializes in converting survey results and field findings into consistent, high-quality reports, including Biological Assessments and other regulatory documents that support permitting and compliance. She works closely with project staff to ensure every document reflects the data and meets regulatory standards and regularly provides quality assurance reviews. This collaborative approach ensures consistency across projects and reflects EnviroScience’s commitment to Excellence in Any Environment.
