Some big news, EnviroScience is proud to have successfully passed the Association of Diving Contractors International (ADCI) audit! The ADCI is internationally recognized as the premier association for diving and underwater contractor practices and personnel certifications.
The ADCI’s Mission is to:
- Promote the highest level of safety in the practice of commercial diving and underwater operations.
- Promote proper and adequate training and education for industry personnel.
- Foster open communication within the Underwater Industry.
- Hold all members accountable in adherence to the ADCI International Consensus Standards for Commercial Diving and Underwater Operations.
EnviroScience has been a general ADCI member since 2006, and we have an entire group of staff dedicated to commercial diving and marine services (www.ES-Divers.com). The benefits of membership include safety updates; networking and teaming opportunities; new dive equipment and ROV technologies; personnel training and certifications; and ensuring compliance with federal and private dive standards, such as the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, OSHA, Navy, U.S. Coast Guard, utilities, and others.
In 2017, the ADCI mandated that all member companies undergo a third-party audit to review and confirm that safety, policy, personnel qualifications, equipment, and fieldwork were compliant with ADCI policies. Over 100 items were reviewed, such as the EnviroScience Safe Practices Manual for Underwater Operations, planning procedures, dive forms, risk assessment forms, checklists, maintenance records, personnel certifications and training, equipment type, and use and maintenance procedures. An on-site diving audit was also performed at a current job location. While the audit was a challenge to complete, it was also an excellent learning opportunity, and the ADCI provided support throughout the process. EnviroScience came away from the audit a safer, improved organization, and we think you will agree.
