Senior Wildlife Biologist

Senior Wildlife Biologist Christina Voorhees, PhD, CWBChristina Voorhees, Ph.D., is a senior-level Certified Wildlife Biologist® and Project Manager who joined the EnviroScience team in 2022. She is based in Pennsylvania and manages projects with threatened and endangered species concerns, assists clients with state and federal agency consultation, and provides business development support in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions.

Christina began her career in the wildlife field in 1997 and has a wide range of experience working with academic institutions, government agencies, and the private sector. She holds a B.S. in Wildlife Science from Virginia Tech (2000) and attended graduate school at Penn State University, where she earned an M.S. in Forest Resources (2002) and a Ph.D. in Recreation, Park, and Tourism Management (2007). Her graduate research focused on human dimensions of natural resources with an emphasis on white-tailed deer and hunting.    

Christina has extensive experience managing complex projects for the energy sector and is skilled in successfully negotiating the environmental review process in a manner that is conscious of permitting and development schedules. She is an effective networker and uses this skill as a business development strategy to build and maintain client relationships. Christina’s prior field expertise includes species such as bats, birds, elk, and white-tailed deer.  Her current focus is birds with a specific emphasis on assisting clients with raptor and grassland bird concerns. Christina is active in several organizations including the Pennsylvania and national chapters of The Wildlife Society, the Pennsylvania Society for Ornithology, the Pennsylvania Association of Environmental Professionals, and the Society for Marketing Professional Services.
