Bridging the Gap between Kids & the Environment

Care for the environment is a high priority for the members of EnviroScience’s Corporate Responsibility Committee, and we are always looking for new ways to engage our staff and the community to help keep the environment clean. Seventeen years ago, we partnered with Cascade Locks Park Association and developed the biannual Little Cuyahoga River Clean-up. Since 2000, volunteers have been cleaning trash out of the Little Cuyahoga River at the Mustill Store, removing an estimated 17 tons of trash as of spring 2017. This event occurs in the spring and fall, and has developed into a real community event with participants from local universities, high schools, scout troops, and families looking for a way to give back.

EnviroScience also works with local schools to help support “on-site” field trips and Bio-Blitzs in both school yards and parks. In the spring of 2017, EnviroScience hosted the entire 5^th grade from Munroe Falls City schools at Brust Park where students conducted a Bio-Blitz and ended the day with a fierce game of Predator Prey Freeze Tag. Our goal is to show students that appreciating nature and keeping the environment clean can be a fun and engaging activity.
