Aquatic toxicity tests, also known as bioassays or Whole Effluent Toxicity (WET) Testing, are used to monitor the toxicity of discharge waters. Aquatic test organisms are subjected to varying concentrations of wastewater, under controlled laboratory conditions. Toxicity levels are determined by statistical analysis.
